New research conducted at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is demonstrating that green tea blocks the formation of plaque in the arteries -- atherosclerosis. Green tea has long been used as a powerful healing herb for heart disease patients, and this new research certainly backs that up. The green tea phytochemicals used in the study, however, did not reduce existing plaque in the arteries; they only prevented new plaque from forming.

The studies just keep on coming, and green tea increasingly looks like a multi-talented healing herb.
