Notice the double standard yet again: the FDA pounces on potentially dangerous supplements, but utterly ignores prescription drugs until it is prodded by watchdog groups and health complaints into doing something about it. Part of the justification for cracking down on andro products is to "protect the children" who are inreasingly turning to athletic performance enhancers. And yet, at the same time, the FDA still allows antidepressant drugs to be routinely prescribed to children while at the same time helping cover up evidence that shows such drugs cause children to commit suicide. There's no effort on the part of the FDA to prevent these suicide-promoting drugs from being prescribed. Similarly, there's no effort to take one million children off the narcotics given to them by school counselors and psychiatrists in the form of Ritalin. We're raising a generation of doped up, FDA approved kids in our country, and the only thing the FDA can do about it is ban the nutritional supplements.
These actions on the part of the FDA are nothing less than criminal, and it's time for serious FDA reform.
